We're looking for a compassionate Medication Care Specialist to join our team at Inspirations of Tempe.

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time Night Shift

Work Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

About Inspirations of Tempe:

We're a beautiful, newly renovated assisted living community with approximately 50 residents. Our team of caregivers provides assistance with daily living activities, and we have opportunities to grow and flexible schedules available.

Job Summary: The Medication Care Specialist will be responsible for administering or assisting with the administration and/or supervision of medications to residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Administering Medications: Administer or assist with the administration and/or supervision of medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.
  • Providing Physical and Psychosocial Care: Provide physical and psychosocial care to all residents in a manner that promotes dignity, choice, and individuality.

Essential Functions:

  • Medication Administration: Administers or assists with the administration and/or supervision of medications according to the physician order on the medication administration record (MAR).
  • Documentation: Documents medications administered on the MAR in accordance with company policy.
  • Change of Shift Report: Conducts change of shift report with oncoming/outgoing shift personnel.
  • Security of Medication Cart: Maintains security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift.
  • Assisting with Daily Living Activities: Provides assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, eating, and ambulation/mobility.
  • Collaboration with Peers: Works collaboratively with peers and other team members.
  • Reporting Incidents: Reports any suspected or witnessed instances of verbal, mental, or physical abuse to licensed staff immediately.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Education and Certificates: Satisfactory completion of state-required education/certificates/testing in relation to medication aides.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Physical Health: Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Lifting and Pushing: Lifting and pushing medication cart about the residence is required.
