Section Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Services

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly qualified Section Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Services to join our team at the Memphis VA Medical Center. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing expert leadership and guidance in the areas of anatomic pathology and laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage anatomic pathology services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and facility employees to provide advisory, planning, and surveillance services to clinicians and laboratory management.
  • Solve complex problems related to anatomic pathology, including unique or controversial aspects.
  • Oversee autopsy responsibilities and grossing room operations.
  • Provide coverage for clinical pathology and laboratory medicine services.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in pathology (clinical and anatomic)
  • At least five years of leadership experience in a similar role
  • Full and unrestricted license from any state
  • US citizenship (non-citizens may be considered when it's not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
  • Proficiency in the written and spoken use of the English language
