Job Summary

Mobile Staff Solutions is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components to assemble structural forms. This is a temp to hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind spare parts as necessary to satisfy technical requirements and create a welded final product.
  • Weld spare parts in various directions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
  • Control processes of fitting, burning, and welding to avoid problems related to overheating, distortion, expansion, or shrink of spare parts.
  • Arrange and assure welded parts are arranged in order before being assembled into final products, using tools such as a square, caliper, or ruler.
  • Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs, including shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, or other welding equipment.
  • Ignite flame or strike an arc while welding or performing electricity-related work to weld part of a metal structure.
  • Examine finished products and spare parts, comparing them with samples to verify whether specifications are met.
  • Operate accessory equipment and perform tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs.
  • Supervise and identify any fault in operating equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying supervisors.
  • Operate safely and apply safety practices at work while performing duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of MIG welding experience.
  • Provide personal basic tools to perform job tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Vocational or Technical certification (preferred).
  • Able to maintain regular, full attendance.
  • Able to work overtime during the week and weekend.
  • Able to grow in the position with a positive and willing attitude.
  • Able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, and additional essential information.
  • Able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of self or others.
  • Able to legally work in the United States.
  • Able to pass a physical, drug, and background check.

Able to regularly lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and regularly. Able to occasionally lift, push, pull 50 lbs. assisted and regularly. Able to read, write, and understand basic English. Able to long work hours. Able to withstand exposure to dust, grease/oil, noise, seasonal weather elements. Able to work in hazardous work environment around cranes, forklifts, moving equipment. Able to legally work in the United States. Able to pass a physical, drug, and background check.
