About the Role
UniFirst First Aid + Safety is in search of a dedicated and skilled Fire Safety Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and service of portable fire safety equipment and emergency lighting systems for our valued clients. Your expertise will also extend to promoting and selling additional services and products to both existing and prospective customers.
Work Schedule:
We offer flexible shifts within a standard 5-day work week, allowing for two days off each week. We are currently looking to fill this position and provide comprehensive on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular inspections and testing of portable fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with NPFA 10 standards.
· Assess and verify the functionality of emergency egress lighting and exit signage.
· Engage in sales activities aimed at acquiring new customers, including cold calling, presentations, and product demonstrations, while collaborating with the service department to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Provide maintenance, repair, and servicing of portable fire safety equipment and emergency lighting systems for our established clientele after completing training.
· Utilize industry-leading knowledge to perform inspections and testing, identifying compliance and non-conformance issues.
· Promote and sell additional safety products and services.
· Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· A high school diploma or GED is required.
· Experience with monthly and annual inspections of portable fire extinguishers is essential.
· Previous experience in sales and upselling safety-related products and services is preferred.
· A valid Fire Extinguisher license or certification is required as per state, county, and/or city regulations.
· An NPFA Extinguisher Certification/License is mandatory.
· Attention to detail is crucial, with the ability to quickly identify errors or discrepancies.
· Capability to lift up to 75 lbs.
