Job Description

Job Summary: As an Account Collector, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and handling basic collections procedures. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining accounts to generate revenue by making payment arrangements with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make collections calls in a fast-paced industry, utilizing effective phone techniques.
  • Follow departmental procedures by informing customers of accounts that need to be placed on hold.
  • Monitor overdue accounts using the company's system or other methods.
  • Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts via telephone or mail.
  • Review the terms of sales, service, or credit contracts.
  • Provide customer service regarding collection issues, review account adjustments, and resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Arrange for debt repayments or establish repayment schedules based on customer financial situations and final approval by management.
  • Process payments through credit cards with customers.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts, customer calls, and customer reconciliations.
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts by monitoring overdue accounts daily.
  • Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the accounts receivable department.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the team.
  • Print reports of the accounts daily and submit to manager for review.
  • Analyze aging reports for appropriate course of action.
  • Communicate with sales representatives, management, and customers via email when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience in collections-related duties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to multitask, possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • General knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
