About the Role

Vestis is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our industrial laundry facility, you will be responsible for performing emergency repairs, routine maintenance tasks, and installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, structures, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency repairs on equipment, machinery, and electrical systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, structures, and electrical systems
  • Assist other technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools
  • Operate powered equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, and external Input/Output devices
  • Assist in the development of technical and training documentation
  • Provide resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues and document all information relating to customer support issues in the CMMS database
  • Follow up with other departments to ensure issues have been resolved
  • Participate in cleaning the equipment as appropriate
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all department and company standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements while contributing to improvement

Requirements:

  • Dedication to promoting a strong culture of safety
  • Demonstrated mechanical and basic electrical aptitude
  • Skills in welding, hand and power tools, and electrical motors
  • Computer literate, familiarity with Internet-based software, MS Office, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial laundry equipment (not required)
  • Ability to comprehend and perform all required training
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work on a set schedule, overtime may be required if needed
