Job Summary

CHS Inc. is a leading global agribusiness seeking a skilled Operations Specialist to join our team in Hazel, MN. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of commodities, including grain, fertilizer, and other agricultural inputs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations.
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment.
  • Control and monitor all load-out functions, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems, maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Conduct and properly record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Deliver products to customer sites, maintaining a safe and efficient delivery process.
  • Keep all work areas clean, orderly, and safe, conducting regular housekeeping duties and reporting any hazards or concerns to supervisors.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, and forklift operation.
  • Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Must meet minimum age requirement.
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Agriculture experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
