American Family Care (AFC) is a leading provider of primary and urgent care services in the US, operating seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers specialize in treating acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Specialist to provide general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Collect patient data, including vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical examination.
- Communicate prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
- Ensure that all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
- Collect blood samples and prepare them for laboratory processing.
- Perform laboratory tests, quality control checks, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
- Respond to laboratory messages and callback requests.
- Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Verify patient immunization records and administer vaccinations as needed.
- Coordinate physician referrals and pre-certifications as necessary.
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered AMT and AAMA certified medical assistants are preferred.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year.
