Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Cath Lab team at WellSpan Health. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting cardiologists with diagnostic invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist cardiologists with performance of diagnostic invasive procedures, maintaining operational knowledge of Cath Lab equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Provide care for patients prior, during, and after procedures, scrubbing and assisting cardiologists as requested.
  • Respond to patient distress situations and assist with equipment quality control and inventory management.
  • Prepare sterile trays, instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for procedures, and maintain sterile field.
  • Provide all appropriate services to safely and efficiently complete patient procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of cardiac concepts and clinical practices.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Cardiology, EKG, and physiologic monitoring required.
  • Cardiology, electrophysiology, pacemakers, peripheral vascular procedures, and related equipment knowledge required.
  • Fluent in medical terminology required.
  • Experience in electric countershock techniques required.
  • Ability to function as a team member required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to demonstrate the principles of surgical asepsis required.
  • Understanding of cardiovascular pathophysiology required.
  • Ability to read a 12-lead EKG required.
  • Ability to identify lethal arrhythmias 100% of the time required.
  • Ability to identify normal versus abnormal intra-cardiac and peripheral pressure waveforms required.
