Chemical Process Specialist

Position Overview:
The role of the Process Engineer involves overseeing and optimizing all aspects of plating and chemical surface finishing operations. This includes ensuring adherence to environmental regulations at all levels, while driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain plating and chemical surface finishing processes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Establish performance benchmarks and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Report variances from planned performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Engage in hands-on operations to enhance or develop processes as necessary.
- Prepare, implement, and maintain procedures for all plating lab processes.
- Provide mentorship to staff on proper setup and operational procedures.
- Collaborate in the resolution of process-related issues, documentation, and quality challenges.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of existing processes.
- Investigate and suggest improvements for equipment and process efficiency.
- Assist in managing waste streams and ensure safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Establish and uphold safe working conditions and housekeeping standards.
- Engage proactively in ISO and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain established standards.
- Revise and create work instructions to reflect process changes.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in process engineering, particularly in plating and electroplating.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in plating and chemical processes is essential.
Experience Level: Intermediate Level
