Swim Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Hartford. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, while promoting water safety and a love of swimming.

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with the YMCA of the USA and YMCA of Greater Hartford Swim Lessons Program Guidelines.
• Build effective relationships with students and parents, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Convey information on aquatics programs and schedules, and refer students and parents to other programs as appropriate.
• Maintain records as required, including attendance and progress reports.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
• Organize and put away needed class equipment, and report damaged equipment.
• Train and supervise class aides as assigned.
• Provide a lesson plan for any substitute.
• Promote the YMCA mission and demonstrate YMCA Character Development to all members.
