Position Overview: This position will initially require onsite presence for a period, transitioning to a hybrid model after the probationary phase.

Our client is engaged in the modernization of legacy applications, primarily those built on outdated technologies such as VB6. The goal is to migrate these applications to a more contemporary web-based framework utilizing MVC Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform legacy VB6 applications into modern web-based solutions, ensuring compliance with security and accessibility standards.
  • Design and implement complex solutions leveraging both standard features and custom development for .Net applications.
  • Enhance the payment processing system to facilitate efficient transactions for taxpayer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain data extraction packages to create structured data layouts.
  • Support and improve existing applications including Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and other critical systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to state employees on .Net best practices.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SQL Server management, including installation and optimization.
  • Proficient in TDE Encryption design and maintenance.
  • Experience in developing both window and web services.
  • Skilled in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Ability to write and evaluate VB.Net code effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in creating detailed technical infrastructure diagrams and specifications.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

Essential Skills:

  • 8 Years - Recent development experience with C#, ASP.Net, and VB.Net.
  • 8 Years - Experience in installing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2016.
  • 8 Years - Expertise in disaster recovery design and testing.
  • 8 Years - Proficient in using integration services or SSIS packages for data management.
  • 8 Years - Familiarity with image capture software and applications.
