Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to join our team at BigBear Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing AWS NIPR and SIPR web servers (IL5/IL6) to ensure the security, availability, and performance of web applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and web server management, as well as excellent analytical and teamwork skills. They will be a self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines.

The position is based in Crystal City, VA, and requires a minimum of four (4) days per week on-site at the Taylor Building, with one (1) day remote. The successful candidate will be able to come in on the remote work day if either system goes down.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, manage, and optimize AWS NIPR and SIPR web servers (IL5/IL6)
  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of web applications
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure services and database administration
  • Collaborate with development teams for seamless deployment and scaling of applications
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and execute disaster recovery plans
  • Automate tasks and processes using AWS tools and scripting languages
  • Assist with deployment of new code releases and bug fixes
  • Improve deployment automation of our web application
  • Provide advice to projects around technical solutions, best practices, and efficiencies
  • Recommend improvements and upgrades to systems based on users' needs
  • Document configuration changes and ensure systems follow the DoD and U.S. Army cybersecurity policies in coordination with Information Assurance Manager
Requirements
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Web Server and Database Server experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • DoD Directive 8570/IAT/IAM Level 2 Certification such as Security+ (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB), web server technologies (Apache, Nginx), and scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of networking, security protocols, and database management
  • Experience in deploying and managing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience with project and task planning to include scope of work, time estimation, and resource assignment
  • Ability to resolve problems in a timely, professional manner within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 Years of Web Server and Database Server experience
  • AWS Web Server Experience
  • SQL Experience
  • Department of Defense or Department of the Army experience
  • Travel - Occasional CONUS Travel ~ 5% - 10% annually
