SPECIALIZED YOUTH EDUCATION SUPPORT STAFF (SUMMER 2024)

LOCATION:

Youth Programs Summer Sites

CLASSIFICATION:

MSEA Level 3

RATE OF PAY:

$21.09/hour

HOURS PER DAY:

Hours may vary based on program requirements. Shifts can differ from day to day.

START & ENDING TIME:

Eagle Zone Summer Program:
Operates from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Staff typically work 8.5 hour shifts (30-minute unpaid break).

EPIC Summer Program:
Runs from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 to 4:30 PM. Staff typically work between 4.5 to 8.5 hours (30-minute unpaid break for shifts over 5 hours).

POSITION DATES:

Selected candidates must attend mandatory training on specified days.

Eagle Zone Summer Programming operates Monday to Friday and runs throughout the summer. Closed on designated holidays.

EPIC Summer Programming is available Monday to Thursday during the summer period. Closed during the holiday week.

PAID HOLIDAYS:

N/A

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates will engage with both Eagle Zone and EPIC programs. Preferences for specific programs will be considered but are not guaranteed.
  • Two-year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
  • Background in child development or related educational experience preferred.
  • Commitment to working respectfully with students with special needs.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability.
  • Experience supporting special education students including those with emotional and behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, and mild to moderate handicaps.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capable of following instructional plans and effectively communicating with students, staff, and families.
