They must identify potential risks and discrepancies within plans and communicate effectively with stakeholders to obtain necessary clarifications for successful bidding. Proficiency in construction methodologies, Quantity Takeoff Techniques, and project scheduling is crucial. Estimators often operate under tight deadlines and must demonstrate the ability to deliver accurate results promptly.
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Meetings and conduct jobsite assessments.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple bids within designated timelines.
  • Evaluate historical costs to determine labor productivity and equipment requirements.
  • Possess a deep understanding of project plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency and the ability to master estimating software, including Bluebeam and onscreen tools for quantity take-offs.
  • Compile detailed quantity take-offs with precision.
  • Engage with Subcontractors and Suppliers effectively (Communication Skills).
  • Gather and assess quotes from subcontractors/suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and comprehensive work scope.
  • Comprehend construction means and methods related to Road/Bridge Projects, Water/Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Pump Stations, Lift Stations, and Utility Operations.
  • Input Labor, Material, Equipment, Subcontractor, and project overhead data for each project.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, On-screen, and Agtek software.
  • Align work practices with Crossland's core values: trust, integrity, responsibility, and passion.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience, particularly in road and bridge projects.

A bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.

Prior experience in Estimating is advantageous.

Strong financial acumen and the ability to cultivate relationships within the industry are essential.
