Bulk Material Handling Project Engineer

Position Overview

The selected candidate will act as the design authority for various projects focused on batch plant design, construction, and audits. This role encompasses the engineering of large-scale material handling and storage systems for bulk raw materials utilized in industries such as cement, metals, masonry, and glass manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the design team and ensure accuracy in designs using AutoCAD.
  • Assist in developing project scopes and budgets.
  • Engineer material handling systems, including but not limited to:
    • Belt-driven conveyors
    • Bucket elevators
    • Screw conveyors
    • Pneumatic transport systems
    • Vibratory conveyors
    • Spiral conveyors
    • Cullet handling systems
    • Scales and other material weighing systems
  • Design bulk material storage solutions, such as external silos and warehouse areas.
  • Conduct audits of batch plants and cullet systems.
  • Develop comprehensive design/layout drawings, fabrication drawings, material lists, and specifications.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to identify requirements and explore process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform process utilization studies, including time cycle studies and process control analysis, to inform upgrades and modifications.

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or designing bulk raw material handling systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience with AutoCAD.
  • 5 years of experience in a project engineering role.
  • 3 years of experience in reviewing designs, layouts, and material lists.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience with glass melting furnaces and glass batch plants.
