Job Summary

Houston MRI & Diagnostic Imaging is looking for committed Emergency Medical Technician I professionals to join our team. This role involves overseeing patients during contrast reactions, initiating IVs in the CT and MRI departments, and preparing patients for their imaging procedures. The position may require travel between various centers, with reimbursement for travel expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer IVs and prepare the power injector in the CT department.
  • Conduct contrast injections in the MRI department.
  • Greet and guide patients to and from changing areas, clarifying procedures, and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Support CT and MRI Technologists in collecting patient histories and screening for procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning in examination rooms as necessary.
  • Monitor patients throughout their procedures.
  • Provide medications in response to contrast reactions.
  • Ensure proper screening of patients entering the MRI Room.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain safety standards consistently.
  • Manage and monitor contrast-related medical supplies, reporting expiration dates and restocking needs.
  • Organize and maintain linens appropriately.
  • Stay updated with and manage personal work schedules.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including administrative support.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of two years of experience as an EMT-Paramedic.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, office practices, and outpatient imaging procedures.
  • Valid registration and licensure as necessary.
  • Proficient in office computer systems relevant to job functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to address inquiries professionally.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Frequent use of hand and finger dexterity.
  • Consistent verbal communication and auditory skills are necessary.
  • Visual acuity is essential for operating equipment and reading technical documents.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel are required.
  • Your specific work schedule will be communicated by your supervisor.
