Job Summary

Colt Services LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hot Tapping Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and successful performance of hot tapping services onsite at client work locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices.
  • Perform all duties as assigned and adhere to Colt's Core Values.
  • Review client job scopes and operate within job and client documentation.
  • Accountability of job equipment and tooling prior to arriving job site.
  • Perform Hot tapping operations, including creating a safe entry into a pipe or vessel, operating at a pressure or vacuum, and performing various techniques and tasks.
  • Maintain on-call status and respond to customers rapidly and travel immediately to address customer emergencies onsite.
  • Inspect leak repair devices and identify the necessity for the use of proper safety equipment.
  • Perform appropriate documentation and administrative procedures as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with field personnel, client representatives, and management to obtain successful project completions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school or related education preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience with on-line leak repair.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, and write English.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Have obtained or has the ability to obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification.
Work Environment

Position is based out of a branch or site location with a geographic responsibility. Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant or industrial atmosphere. Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and customer personnel. Working around production machinery with extreme heat and noise levels. May be required to work in or near extreme hot or cold environments.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb throughout industrial areas, including steps and ladders.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in high-stress environments.
  • Ability to work on elevated or hard-to-reach surfaces and areas in a variety of locations throughout industrial facilities.
