About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Dietary Assistant to join our team at UNC Health Care.

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care by delivering and assembling patient trays, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment and utensils, and adhering to special diets and health standards.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver food trays or nourishments to patient's rooms or nursing units in a timely manner.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, including the dish room.
  • Maintain compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA requirements regarding job training and health standards.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to verbalize understanding of all special diets used at Nash UNC Health Care.
  • Must successfully complete diet competencies annually.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a standard 24.00 hours per week schedule, typically working weekends.

The location of the job is NASH HC.

This role is exempt from overtime pay.
