Adult Protective Services Case Worker I

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Protective Services Case Worker I to join our team. As a key member of our social services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of vulnerable adults in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide casework and follow-up services to substantiated victims and vulnerable adults to ensure long-term support and intervention to prevent further abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of the victim.
- Document all activities on required forms adhering to time frames and policies of the APS program.
- Make referrals for appropriate follow-up services, such as case management, ombudsman or other community-based services.
- Ability to relate well to older individuals and persons with disabilities respecting their privacy, dignity, and right to self-determination.
- Must display strong and independent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and respond to client needs in accordance with specified time frames.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and other community agencies.
- Associates Degree required with a minimum of 4 years experience. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in social services, social work, health care administration, gerontology, disability studies, criminal justice or public administration is strongly preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in health or human service is strongly preferred.
- Ability to relate well to persons with disabilities and older individuals respecting their privacy, dignity, and right to self-determination.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others and take direction in a dynamic, fast-paced, and diverse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize a number of requests for services assuring that all requests are responded to in a timely manner.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Passage of complete background clearance, and any other required testing or clearances.
- A valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of liability insurance is required.
