Recreation Therapist

We are seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our team at Easterseals Massachusetts Inc. in Canton, MA.

The Recreation Assistant will assist in therapeutic programming by implementing recreational, social, and special activities for patients with disabilities.

• Encourage patients' independence in all phases of recreation programming.
• Assist with instruction in various activities to individuals and groups, ensuring patients' success and safety.
• Transport patients safely and address personal care needs as required.
• Monitor patients during recreation programs to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Support patients with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist in developing social skills.
• Follow safety protocols and demonstrate safe work behavior.
• Establish good rapport with peers, students, caregivers, and other professionals.

• Knowledge of special needs of patients with disabilities.
• Experience with children and young adults with physical disabilities (preferred).
• Experience providing personal care to youth and/or adults with disabilities (preferred).
