We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our team at Summerville Medical Center. As a PACU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in the immediate post-anesthesia period, ensuring a smooth transition to Phase I recovery.
Responsibilities- Assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care in the PACU department.
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients and families, including administering medication and IV fluids accurately and safely.
- Transcribe and implement physician orders, documenting all patient-related information.
- Update and revise the plan of care as needed, based on continued assessment of the patient.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to perceive potential problems and intervene to offset adverse effects.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice, or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous nursing experience in Critical Care/Recovery.
