Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients requiring respiratory support.
  • Administer a wide range of respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and pulmonary function testing, in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Perform complex respiratory procedures, such as airway management and bronchoscopy, demonstrating proficiency and adherence to safety standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper equipment usage, breathing techniques, and self-care strategies to promote optimal respiratory health.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; CRT may be considered.
  • One year of experience in an acute care setting is highly desirable.
  • Current state licensure with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine is mandatory.
