Duchesne County is seeking a Landfill Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our landfill operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the landfill's infrastructure, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills. We offer a competitive salary of $58,000 - $68,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate grader, compactor, scraper, backhoe, dozer, or related heavy equipment to move, cover, and compact waste deposited into the county landfill.
• Maintain roads allowing easy access in and out of landfill sites.
• Monitor customer activities to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
• Deal with public complaints and provide information on landfill requirements and fees.
• Perform random inspections of loads coming into the landfill and weekly inspections of sanitation truck loads.
• Assist with special construction and maintenance projects undertaken within the landfill.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of public works construction and maintenance experience, including heavy equipment operation.
• Mechanical repair experience highly desirable.
