Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist in the preparation and care of pre-operative patients, including positioning and transporting patients to and from the Operating Room.
  • Identify and care for biological specimens, and prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
  • Work effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient, cooperating in team planning and execution, and maintaining a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety in all patient care situations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Surgical Technology program required.
  • 2 or more years of experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
