Compensation: $56,081-$63,932 annually (based on experience with PA Instructional I or II)

Emergency Certified Exceptional Needs Educator= flat rate of $53,277 annually

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Your Responsibilities as an Exceptional Needs Educator Include:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
  • Delivering educational lessons in a small classroom environment
  • Implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitoring educational objectives
  • Supporting and reinforcing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) goals

About Devereux Day Academy
Devereux Day Academy is a private educational institution dedicated to serving students in grades K-12 who have been identified with primary disabilities such as emotional disturbances, behavioral and cognitive differences. We also cater to children with autism, intellectual disabilities, and speech and language impairments. Our core curriculum aligns with Pennsylvania Core Standards and the curricula of our partner school districts, facilitating smooth transitions for students. Our goal is to provide engaging learning experiences that promote success through differentiated instruction, evidence-based strategies, and high expectations.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree and an active Special Education Instructional I or II Pennsylvania teacher certification or eligibility for Pennsylvania Special Education Instructional I certification. Emergency Certification is available.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is preferred.
