Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data-Cloud Engineer to join our team at HR Recruiting Services.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire data engineering lifecycle, including design, implementation, performance tuning, and monitoring.
  • They will manage and work with our database managed service provider (MSP) to manage and monitor our evolving database requirements.
  • Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes critical to support business operations and analytics.
  • Ongoing tasks include optimizing and tuning data systems for high performance and reliability, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, and delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and managing data storage solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ensuring data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation, and continuously evaluating and integrating new technologies and tools to improve data processing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from a top-tier university.
  • 4-5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency in database administration.
  • Proven experience migrating on-prem data and associated processes to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement efficient and reliable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and drive projects to completion. Strong organizational skills along with a desire to continually be challenged.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of fixed-income or equity data and/or risk management in a fixed-income environment (security master, trading, position tables) is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing and updating technologies such as Jenkins, NGINX, Celery, Octopus, TeamCity is also a strong plus.
  • Experience with front-end programming languages/tools such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or AG-Grid is a plus.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
