Job Summary

As the Lead Geotechnical Engineer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing geotechnical aspects of all technical projects within our organization.

This position demands exceptional technical expertise and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate should thrive in a collaborative environment, providing specialized geotechnical knowledge for both underground and surface operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide continuous geotechnical oversight for various studies (Feasibility, Detailed Design, and Construction).
- Assess mine plans, designs, and conduct trade-off analyses.
- Supervise underground and surface geotechnical data collection initiatives and manage the consultants responsible for analysis and recommendations.
- Oversee project and study management.
- Mentor and train the geotechnical team.

- Offer geotechnical guidance and expertise to facilitate the transition from project phase to construction, which includes: developing ground control management strategies, recommending and implementing necessary ground monitoring tools, designing drilling and laboratory testing protocols, and managing budgets.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
Engage and inform key internal and external stakeholders appropriately.
Manage contractors and subcontractors on projects as necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:


- Advanced degree in Geological Engineering or a related discipline; registration as a licensed professional engineer or equivalent qualification is essential.

- A minimum of 15 years of practical experience in underground hard rock mining, engineering, or geotechnical fields.
- Proficiency in geotechnical block modeling and numerical modeling software and methodologies.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA is mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience in drafting RFPs, technical reports, and general project documentation.
