Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Pool team at University Hospital in Madison, WI. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a variety of intensive care units (ICUs) and intermediate care (IMC) units.

Responsibilities
  • Provide critical care to patients in ICUs and IMCs, utilizing advanced life support therapies and critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients.
  • Partner with dynamic multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care, effectively delegating tasks and communicating with colleagues.
  • Mentor and support new nurses, as well as participate in strategic planning efforts, quality improvement, and Shared Governance.
  • Float across multiple departments and specialties, caring for complex patient populations and adapting to changing unit needs.
Requirements
  • 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting, with relevant certifications and licenses.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification, with ACLS certification within 6 months.
  • Relevant certification and licensure in the State of WI or compact state.
