Job Summary

The Powder Coater plays a vital role in our production process, ensuring the application of high-quality paints to the exterior of pipes while adhering to company guidelines and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces of pipes and column tubes for painting by cleaning, sanding, or priming as necessary.
  • Apply paints using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes.
  • Monitor drying times and environmental conditions to optimize paint adhesion and finish quality.
  • Conduct quality inspections of painted surfaces to identify any defects or imperfections, and make necessary touch-ups or adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of paint usage, work hours, and materials used for each project.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, hoses, and paint booths, to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
  • Understand PPE based on paint product SDS.
  • Record daily production.
  • Taking on increased responsibility for surface preparation, paint application, and quality inspections, demonstrating advanced skills and expertise.
  • Managing the recording of daily production metrics, including paint usage, work hours, and materials utilized for each project.
  • Assisting with the management and maintenance of painting equipment, including spray guns, hoses, and paint booths, to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
  • Providing guidance to Painter Production I.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in painting with solvent-based paints, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to paint application and handling chemicals.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures (e.g., constant use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
  • Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Manage and enforce PPE requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience Powder Coating Pipe preferred.
  • Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions depending on weather.
  • Team player.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, team lift.
  • Bend, stand, or stoop for long periods of time.
