Job Summary

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Professional to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for researching and analyzing tax issues and implications for both the US and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Analysis: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of GAAP and tax laws and regulations in relevant state, local, and federal jurisdictions.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Assist in managing workflow and general compliance related to sales and use taxes, including state and local sales tax, highway use tax, and federal excise taxes related to heavy trucks.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with departments across the company to obtain necessary documentation for tax purposes.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze and reconcile tax accrual accounts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Respond to communication from regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a Finance/Business related degree.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant indirect tax experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preferred experience in industry accounting or corporate tax role, experience with tax research tools, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
