Position Overview

This role is for a highly motivated and experienced fitness professional to lead group exercise classes at the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging workout environment that promotes physical activity and wellness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead group exercise classes in a safe and effective manner, ensuring participants receive proper instruction and support.
  • Develop and implement new class formats and themes to keep classes fresh and exciting.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and submit reports as required.
  • Assist with special events and promotions, such as health fairs and charity runs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to participant feedback and concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in group exercise programming.

Requirements

  • Certification in a recognized group fitness format (e.g., Pilates, HIIT, barre, water fitness, dance fitness).
  • Minimum 12 months or 75 hours of practical experience teaching group exercise classes.
  • Ability to lift in excess of ten pounds and move equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

  • $15.00 - $21.00 per hour.
