Role Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Oncology (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all operations within the unit during assigned shifts. Collaborating with management, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established protocols, serving as a resource for staff while embodying the organization's vision and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engages in continuous assessment of care quality in collaboration with management.
- Works with experts and managers to foster teamwork that enhances outcomes and service quality.
- Champions a patient-first approach and engages in service recovery as needed.
- Supports facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee and hourly rounds.
- Provides input on recruitment, selection, and training of new staff, and recommends actions for training, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations.
- Assists in staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Oversees inventory management and assists in the procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in Texas or a compact license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within one year of hire or transfer.
- PALS certification preferred.
- ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy certificate required within one year of hire.
- A minimum of two years of RN experience in ICU, BMT/Hematology, or PCU is strongly preferred.
