We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician Apprentice to join our team at GE Healthcare. As a Biomedical Technician Apprentice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and diagnose issues with biomedical equipment, implementing repairs and performing planned maintenance as needed.
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships, communicating technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Assist more experienced technicians on complex repairs and resolutions, working as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery.
- Document all repair actions and submit reports according to schedule, maintaining approved parts inventory and managing vendor service delivery processes.
- Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures.
- Graduate from an A.S., B.S., M.S., diploma, or directly related certificate in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, Mechanical Principles, or similar degree program, or equivalent DOD military education.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
- Previous experience and/or course work in interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment.
- Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships, and have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Special Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
- Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations, and analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment in the electronic field, resulting in knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
- A competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $18-$28 per hour, and performance-based incentive compensation.
