About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our accounting department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the department's deliverables and ensuring the timely production of all company financials in accordance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, processes, and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.
  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 8+ years of direct P&L responsibilities.
  • 6+ years in a management role overseeing direct reports.
  • Certified Public Accountant with Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting.
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems (e.g., Business Central).
  • Experience with Month End Close, JE's.
  • Experience working in a small or mid-sized companies a plus.
