The Clinical Manager is accountable for the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care to fulfill patient requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises patient care in accordance with age-specific needs, assessment outcomes, acuity levels, care plans, and the skills of available staff.
  • Ensures the proper handling and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical materials.
  • Engages in staff training, assesses employee performance, and manages disciplinary actions and terminations for the nursing team.
  • Addresses grievances and incidents, conducts thorough investigations, implements corrective measures, and maintains documentation.
  • Assesses, recommends, and procures necessary supplies and equipment to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Interprets and enforces hospital and nursing policies and procedures for the unit, proposing modifications as needed.
  • Keeps the Director updated on the quality of care provided and the satisfaction levels of patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Delivers both clinical and educational instruction in the area of expertise, including patient and staff education and discharge planning.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned or required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • A diploma, associate, or bachelor's degree in nursing is required. Additional education in management techniques is beneficial.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Must hold a current Registered Nurse license approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Continuing Education Units are required annually.
  • BLS certification must be obtained during the orientation period and maintained throughout employment.
  • ACLS certification is advantageous.
  • Certification in a specific clinical area by a recognized authority is preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required at the discretion of the department.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital nursing experience is preferred.
