The Non-Certified Teacher embodies the skills and expertise of a traditional educator, albeit without holding a New Jersey teaching certification. This role is pivotal in ensuring a secure and respectful learning atmosphere for Preschool or Pre-Kindergarten students, adhering to established curriculum and program standards.

Key Responsibilities

A typical day for a Non-Certified Teacher at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Spearheading the design and execution of both long-term and short-term educational activities aligned with curriculum goals and developmentally appropriate practices.
2. Crafting and delivering captivating lessons utilizing diverse teaching methodologies that engage children's interests and accommodate their individual learning styles.
3. Modifying the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child while ensuring overall progress in the learning environment.
4. Recognizing the individual and collective learning requirements of children and devising instructional plans that cater to a broad spectrum of abilities.
5. Monitoring, documenting, and communicating children's developmental progress throughout the year, including conducting parent-teacher discussions.
6. Maintaining open and respectful communication with families, colleagues, supervisors, and other staff members.
7. Collaborating effectively with families, team members, supervisors, and other center personnel.
8. Promoting appropriate skills and social behaviors in children, consistent with the program's guiding principles.
9. Encouraging and exemplifying professional growth by participating in meetings and conferences.
10. Ensuring the health and safety of children at all times while fostering a positive learning environment.
11. Meeting all educational standards for NAEYC Accreditation and licensing requirements set by the Department of Children and Families-Office of Licensing.
12. Demonstrating successful outcomes in children's growth and development towards achieving educational objectives.
13. Exhibiting knowledge and understanding of the Grow NJ Kids Rating System, Criteria, and Applications.
14. Performing additional duties and projects as assigned.
15. Adhering to Hackensack Meridian Health's organizational competencies and standards of conduct.

Qualifications

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. An Associate's Degree coupled with 2-4 years of verifiable experience in a childcare or related setting.
2. A passion for nurturing children's enthusiasm for learning.
3. Creativity and resourcefulness, along with strong organizational and planning skills.
4. Comprehensive understanding of national and state educational standards, licensing protocols, and health regulations.
5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with a deep understanding of classroom activities and pedagogical methods.
6. A genuine interest in children and respect for their individuality.
7. The capability to build positive relationships with families and fellow professionals.

Licenses and Certifications:

1. Must maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR AED certifications and an active NJCCIS registry within 30 days of hire.
