Investment Portfolio Analyst


We are looking for a dedicated Investment Portfolio Analyst who possesses both technical skills and market insight to assist in the management of an automated trading platform.

The successful candidate will be required to support trading operations during U.S. market hours.
This role is strictly onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily operations related to the trading platform for equity and futures markets.
  • Continuously monitor and assess system performance to ensure seamless functioning.
  • Review and verify trades and system values in real-time.
  • Step in to manage the trading platform during periods of limited staffing.
  • Address trading exceptions, including unacknowledged orders or erroneous trades.
  • Facilitate change management and confirm that new software and hardware operate correctly.
  • Identify and react to system incidents, conduct troubleshooting, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Engage in follow-up investigations for root cause analysis of identified problems.
  • Adjust for and respond to corporate action events.
  • Collaborate with team members to discover and implement enhancements to trading procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of trading system parameterization data.
  • Improve and further automate existing processes through scripting and report generation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for trading-related processes.
  • Understand portfolio organization and hedging strategies.
  • Possess knowledge of investment portfolio management and exposure monitoring.
  • Recognize corporate actions and respond appropriately to related events.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of markets and trading.
  • Looking for an operationally focused individual with a technical background; ideally someone interested in trading.
  • Must understand portfolio management, risk assessment, and hedging concepts.
  • Proficient in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with Perl, Python, or Ruby scripting and SQL is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Capable of exercising sound judgment in problem-solving or escalation.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Report directly to the Trade Desk Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for assisting with the processes related to market openings.

  • Be aware of market dynamics.
  • Understand portfolio organization and hedging techniques.
  • Address issues proactively (e.g., scripting) to capitalize on market opportunities.
    • Distinguish between complex issues and non-issues.
    • After system activation, engage in proactive tasks (e.g., enhancing scripting skills).
      • Must pass the Series 57 exam, if not already certified.
      (Training materials will be provided by the company as needed).

      • Seeking a versatile individual with interests in both technology and trading.
      • Utilize a proprietary high-frequency trading system.
