About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team at GM Financial. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with leadership and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop business intelligence solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
  • Partner with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from various sources using SQL and other tools.
  • Automate and simplify self-service or reporting pipelines, including improving ETL workflows, automatic alarming, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and data issues and formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership and technical teams.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions and provide data insights to challenge business teams to think differently about how they digest and use data insights to make informed decisions.
  • Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve business KPIs.
  • Work with data and software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
  • Hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized queries across large data sets.
  • Experience in scripting languages like Python, Unix, Java, etc.
  • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with data integration tools such as Informatica or Azure Data Factory, etc.
  • Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI data modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and responsibilities with little to no supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen focus on accuracy and effective reporting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of auto finance industry loan operations.
