Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, including inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues with diesel engines and heavy equipment.
  • Assist with service calls for breakdowns and perform repairs on-site.
  • Perform other maintenance-related work as required, including washing vehicles and equipment, conducting safety checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a class A or B mechanic.
  • Computer diagnostic experience is required.
  • Prior experience in the waste management industry or heavy equipment/yellow iron dealership experience is a plus.
  • Trade school or similar training is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices is essential.
