Sanitation Program Manager

Job Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive Sanitation program that ensures compliance with all current Food Safety Standards throughout the site. This includes training and developing Sanitation and Production employees to identify and control GMP issues and enforce food safety standards. The Sanitation Supervisor will communicate effectively with the Sanitation Manager, Quality Manager, and Production and Sanitation Staff regarding any Sanitation issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Sanitation program, including HACCP, Allergen, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of production equipment.
  • Train production employees on sanitation practices and procedures.
  • Assist with consumer complaint issues and lead plant teams to minimize complaints.
  • Develop Sanitation procedures and paperwork.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Safety, and Warehouse teams.
  • Identify and correct sanitation or environmental issues at the assigned facility.
  • Ensure the facility is ready for Third Party or Customer inspections.
  • Manage the Production and Sanitation Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement of facility sanitation.
  • Supervise Sanitation chemical suppliers.
  • Supervise Sanitation staff.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Sanitation or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in the food industry, with at least 3 years as a Sanitation Supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Master Sanitation Plan and other legal requirements for the food industry, including GMPs.
  • Knowledge of FDA and MDA requirements.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, Allergens, and BRC.
  • Knowledge of sanitary equipment design.
  • Good understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment.
Work Environment:

Frequent production environment exposure, including noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and temperature fluctuations.
