Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Optum. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the pharmacy functions and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Fills prescription orders and verifies medication stock under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist
  • Orders, receives, and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
  • Processes wholesaler medication orders and maintains accurate inventory records
  • Assists the pharmacist in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Performs various clerical duties and communicates effectively with the team

Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm and required rotating weekends Saturday and Sunday 10am – 2pm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 6+ months of pharmacy technician experience
