Job Summary

Webber, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket to excavate ditches, structures, and mass excavations, lay pipe and precast concrete structures, load trucks, and place rock riprap.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate excavators, crawlers, and rubber-tired machines to perform excavation and construction tasks
  2. Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading and unloading materials
  3. Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects
  4. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments
  5. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report any unsafe activities to supervisors and/or Human Resources
  6. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  7. Gain the respect of others by being fair, honest, reliable, and hardworking
Requirements
  1. Five (5) or more years of experience in heavy highway and civil construction as an Excavator Operator
  2. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
  3. Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  4. Mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics
  5. Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including minor obstacles, such as climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  6. Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature
  7. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials
  8. Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions, such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
