Preschool Culinary Specialist

The Preschool Chef will be responsible for preparing nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals for children at The Learning Experience. This role requires a passion for impact, a growth mindset, and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality of care for our young students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and maintain equipment for meal preparation and service.
Ensure compliance with state nutritional requirements and maintain accurate inventory records.
Prepare and serve food in amounts based on the number of children and staff eating each day.
Maintain effective, safe storage for food, cooking, and serving supplies, equipment, and utensils.
Safety and Sanitary Procedures:
Follow all local regulatory health, safety, and hygiene procedures, including hand washing and sanitizing dishes and cookware.
Empty and clean trash and garbage cans, and keep the refrigerator, microwaves, and other appliances clean and in good working order.
Understand emergency procedures and be prepared to respond in all situations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain positive and supportive relationships with other Center staff and parents.
Provide ongoing positive customer service to all parents and assist in classrooms with children as needed.
Responsible for food shopping and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework preferred.
At least 18 years of age and relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen or equivalent.
Must meet state-specific guidelines for the role and have a food service/food handler's permit or license according to state/local regulations.
