At Westminster Woods on Julington Creek, we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional living experience. We are seeking a dedicated full-time Culinary Supervisor to join our team in our newly established Memory Care facility. This role plays a vital part in assisting the Executive Chef or Dining Services Director in the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of our quality dining services for residents, staff, and visitors.
The Culinary Supervisor will oversee the culinary operations, including the HAACP program and sanitation protocols across all food production and service areas within our community. This position also provides essential support in the absence of the Executive Chef or Dining Services Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CULINARY SUPERVISOR:
Adhere to all relevant rules, policies, standards, and guidelines associated with employment at Westminster Communities.
- Oversee kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence.
- Supervise all kitchen activities.
- Assist the Executive Chef with daily food preparation and production by adhering to standardized recipes.
- Ensure compliance with recipes, maintain accurate records, and uphold food quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of soups, sauces, and gravies.
- Ensure kitchen staff adheres to sanitation and food safety standards.
- Monitor kitchen equipment operations and report any malfunctions to the Executive Chef or Dining Services Director.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CULINARY SUPERVISOR:
Education:
A 2-Year Accredited Culinary Degree or a related college degree is required, along with specialized certification from an approved culinary institution. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume, hospitality-oriented, and customer service-focused environment is essential.
Serv Safe certification is required or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and familiarity with database menu systems for forecasting, menu development, and recipe creation.
Requirements:
Ability to conduct effective meetings and complete a Certified Dietary Managers Qualification within the specified timeframe. Must be willing to learn the computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida and work collaboratively as part of the dining services management team.
