Your Role at Pace

As a Microbiologist, you will apply your passion for science within the Scientific Insourcing Services division. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in this role and to facilitate your development in the laboratory sciences field at Pace.

This position is integral to supporting food safety and quality assurance through the utilization and validation of pathogen detection products. You will prepare and assess samples using aseptic techniques to guarantee that products adhere to specifications. The items monitored are essential for maintaining a safe food supply chain for consumers. Collaboration within a team-oriented environment is key, and there may be occasional weekend shifts required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze products using established microbiological methods such as dilution, pour plating, and filtration.
  • Execute a variety of molecular and microbiological tests, including sterility testing, plate counting, and pathogen identification.
  • Prepare sterile laboratory media necessary for testing procedures.
  • Conduct Petrifilm product evaluations and apply compendial methods and standard protocols.
  • Maintain bacterial cultures for both inclusive and exclusive testing.
  • Ensure general laboratory maintenance and supply management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with microbiological laboratory techniques such as pipetting, media preparation, agar pouring, and streak plating.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a self-driven and results-oriented approach.
  • Effective communication skills.
