We are seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to become an integral part of our team at Carespring Health Care Management. In this role, you will assist the Nursing Supervisor in overseeing comprehensive patient care within the nursing unit and managing unit operations.
Compensation: $22 to $35 Per Hour (Up to $48.00 with Shift Differential)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative duties and patient care oversight
- Supervising and guiding STNAs
- Ensuring compliance with departmental policies among personnel, medical staff, patients, and visitors
- Working on designated units as directed by the D.O.N., A.D.O.N., or Supervisor
- Reviewing 24-hour report sheets for updates in patient care requirements
- Conducting rounds and supervising nursing assistant care
- Administering medications (including IV) and treatments as per physician orders
- Addressing the spiritual and psychological needs of patients with available resources
- Facilitating and directing the patient admission and discharge processes
- Exchanging reports with incoming staff at shift changes
- Taking and transcribing physician orders
- Responding to telephone inquiries
- Assessing patient care needs and conditions while enhancing existing care plans
- Managing patient admissions in the absence of the documentation nurse
- Verifying physician orders
- Transcribing pre-admission information
- Coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic needs within and outside the facility
- Ordering medications and treatments
- Communicating patient needs to dietary services
- Completing necessary admission documentation
- Coordinating patient transfers and discharges
- Arranging transportation
- Communicating with family or responsible parties
- Completing appropriate discharge paperwork
- Maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Directing and assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Facilitating communication across all departments
- Ensuring overall safety and cleanliness of the unit
- Welcoming and directing visitors to the unit
Qualifications:
- A valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
- Completion of required continuing education hours
- Good physical and mental health
- A positive attitude and a passion for working with the elderly
- Willingness to perform non-professional duties as needed
- Ability to remain calm and provide direction in emergency situations
- Commitment to prioritizing patient needs
