Key Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Monitor and document vital signs of patients
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes
  • Observe patients and communicate any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the supervising staff
  • Administer prescribed medications and nutritional support via MicKey, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Follow the daily care plan, which includes full passive and active range of motion exercises, lymphatic massages, medication management, and tube feeding
  • Ensure adherence to the patient's oxygen therapy regimen
  • Accompany patients to medical appointments during daytime hours
  • Facilitate communication with nonverbal patients
  • Utilize medical equipment such as catheters, nebulizers, suction devices, Bi-Pap, and oxygen supplies
  • Record and track food and fluid intake and output
  • Assist Certified Nursing Assistants with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, transferring, and repositioning

Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Valid LPN license in Georgia
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • At least 1 year of experience in home health care
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Capable of handling confidential information in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Experience with Hoyer lifts
  • Familiarity with G-Tubes and MicKey buttons
  • Willingness to undergo drug testing upon job offer
  • Current TB test or chest X-ray required
  • Possession of a reliable vehicle
  • Clean background check
