Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team at The Manor at Blue Water Bay. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their maximum potential and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate the functional abilities of our residents and develop personalized treatment plans to address their needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and make recommendations for resident therapy treatments, ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of care.
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments, including activities of daily living, to help our residents regain their independence and confidence.
  • Develop and implement goals for activities of daily living that are measurable and realistic, based on the resident's care plan.
  • Participate in the discharge planning process for residents, ensuring a smooth transition to their next level of care.
  • Document treatment progress in resident charts in an accurate and timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and train Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and rehabilitation aides to ensure quality rehab care services are provided.
  • Complete required company forms and documents to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BS or MS-Occupational Therapy).
  • Current OT license for the state of practice in good standing.
  • NBCOT certification.
  • One year experience in a healthcare setting, with long-term care experience preferred.
Working Conditions

As an Occupational Therapist at The Manor at Blue Water Bay, you will work in a fast-paced rehabilitation department, interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. You will be required to bend, lift, sit, stand, and move frequently throughout the shift, and may be exposed to odors, falls, burns, and infectious diseases.

  • Professionalism: Reports to work on time and as scheduled, maintains open communication with direct supervisors, and promotes teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • Resident Rights: Treats all resident care information with confidentiality, monitors assigned areas to ensure residents are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, and honors resident refusal of treatments.
  • Safety Awareness: Follows safety program guidelines, reports accidents and incidents to supervisors, and identifies and corrects or reports hazardous conditions.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Handles multiple residents simultaneously, completes assignments in an organized fashion, and possesses effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Customer Service: Treats all residents, families, co-workers, and supervisors with dignity and respect, and takes initiative to exceed customer expectations.
