Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Health First. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, providing excellent patient service, and ensuring accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process patient specimens in accordance with Health First Laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional patient service, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
  • Meet goals and demonstrate commitment to the Phlebotomy Training Program.
  • Ensure accurate and timely results, with zero patient or sample identification errors in the pre-analytical phase of laboratory procedures.
  • Perform basic computer literacy skills to perform essential training and job functions.
  • Meet Attendance Policy expectations and demonstrate effective time management.
  • Comply with the Health First I-Care values and demonstrate effective communication with co-workers and management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills, excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, and ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to adapt to a combination of sitting, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Ability to push wheelchairs, stretcher, and beds.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Willing and able to work with bio-hazardous/toxic materials following OSHA guidelines.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
  • Must be able to pass a colorblind test.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit and operate a computer.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. The job is located at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
